In just 49 days the International Black Film Festival of Nashville will begin, giving an entertainment experience that is both original and enriching to Music City.

From Sept. 30 thru Oct 4 the city of Nashville will be the venue for a celebration of the motion picture featuring stories, concepts, characters and situations pertaining to African Americans.

This year's observance of the International Black Film Festival of Nashville is its third and aims to be better than ever before. Featuring a bevy of A-list acting talent and industry professionals from around the world along with several major movie premieres, this event will please film-fans and people watchers alike.

Founded by Hazel Joyner-Smith and her daughters, Ingrid Brown, Ivy Brown and Mica Gaines, the film festival aims to introduce mainstream entertainment options and connections to this region of the country.

With Nashville undeniable connections to the artistic community through music and culture, the growing metropolis also seeks to make film for all cultural groups as powerful a component as the music it is known for.

Steadily gaining momentum since its debut in 2007, the International Black Film Festival of Nashville reaches even farther this year by including more venues, specials guests and of course –movies.

While past festival have included appearances by Boris Kodjoe, Tasha Smith, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Mykelti Williamson and Tyler Williams from Everybody Hates Chris, and brought countless industry insiders, this one aims to continue bringing diverse entertainment to the city and surrounding communities.
